This was a rough game, aside from the drama that would end it. It was also a high scoring game with the Penguins winning 5-4.

However, the real story of the night was the fighting. The first fight in the game was between Craig Adams (PIT) and Ian Laperriere (PHI). The fight came just over 1 minute into the game. Here’s a video of it below.

It wasn’t a long fight, or a violent fight, but it was quick. Adams obviously wins the fight. Once again this was only about one and a half minutes into the game.

The game would be more entertaining even later.

However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We have to talk about the goals first (sorry). I’ll make it quick though.

The Penguins scored the first goal of the game in the first minute. It was a very quick power play goal. They would end up leading after the first period 2-1.

OK, by now you’ve probably heard about the brawl at the end of the game. The hit on the Pens’ goalie was definitely cheap and in my opinion, Hartnell needs to be suspended.

Here’s a video of the “fiesta” at the end of the game. You’ll see Letang come back and you’ll also see the reactions of some of the players and coaches.

Yeah, you kind of already knew what was coming from the earlier video, but this went a little bit more in depth.

Anyway, to me, this game says that the Philidelphia Pittsburgh rivalry is starting to flare again.

As for retaliation, I think it will depend on how the NHL and Hartnell handle the situation. If the NHL gives a few game suspension and a hefty fine, you may not see any retaliation. Hartnell will also want to keep his mouth shut and avoid making the Penguins any angrier.

This is definitely something that you should keep an eye on. Everybody write down December 15th and 17th, this is when they will face each other next. Yes, they play back-to-back games against each other.

The first game on the 15th will be in Pittsburgh, the second will be in Philly.
